The Diet and Excercise Connection

Remember, MERIDIA is a prescription weight-loss medication. When you take MERIDIA, it’s important to stick to a reduced-calorie diet and exercise regularly.

Fewer Calories Every Day

Naturally, it’s extremely important when losing weight to lower how many calories you eat. Reduce your usual diet by 500-1000 calories a day, to help achieve a weight loss of one to two pounds a week. In general, it’s best to stick to a diet that consists of 1200-1600 calories per day for most men, or 1000-1200 for most women. Your physician can help you set your caloric needs.1

Exercise for Weight Loss and Improved Health

While diet is important, increasing your physical activity can help a lot when it comes to not only losing weight, but keeping weight off as well. Exercise also helps reduce your risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes beyond what weight loss alone can do.1 What’s more, exercising helps you feel better both physically and emotionally.
